First Quarter Peal of Minor at first attempt for – 1. Well done Sam, I think you have cracked it!
Sam only rang his first Quarter (Bob Doubles) on Sunday 23rd December and has only ever rung one plain course of Bob Minor in the distant past!
Well done and thank you to the ladies for ringing the back end!
The band contained the youngest member of our local band Sam Palmer aged 13 and the oldest member of our band Ron Applewhite aged 87 (who is to be 88 in a few weeks time).

The band wish to associated Ron Applewhite with this quarter peal as Ron is the only surviving member of the Branston band who rang for the wedding in 1968 but sadly due to ill health he was unable to ring in this quarter.

Rung by the local band in memory of our dear friend and fellow ringer Sue Scouller on the 4th Anniversary of her death. Sue was a loyal and regular member of this local band and she is greatly missed!
Sue learned to ring here at Branston and rang her first & last Quarter Peals on the 4th to Plain Bob Doubles here at Branston. The fourth bell at Potterhanworth was dedicated in her memory in 2004 after the augmentation and restoration of the bells but we sadly can not ring at Potterhanworth at the present time.
Rung also to wish Ron Applewhite a speedy recovery after his fall. We hope you are back ringing with us soon Ron!!!

Rung especially remembering George Henry Cooke a Private in the 2nd/5th Battalion of the Lincolnshire Regiment who died on 20th December 1917 and William Pearson Green a Pioneer in the 1st Battalion, Special Brigade of the Royal Engineers who died on 28th June 1916 aged 25. Both George and William were ringers here at St. Wilfrid’s Metheringham.
Rung also remembering William Henry Rossington a Private in the 4th Battalion of the Lincolnshire Regiment who died on 15th April 1918 aged 21. William was a ringer at neighboring St. Oswald’s Blankney.
