Bell / Ringing Info
Handling:. The bells handle quite well but could do with a rope guide 2 foot below the ringing chamber ceiling. Apart from this they handle ok.
Go of Bells: The bells go very well being hung on ball bearings. (They were augmented and rehung in 1938).
Striking:. The bells are evenly struck with no odd-struckness.
Sound:.. They are a very nice sounding peal of bells and very rewarding. They are one of the best sounding fives in Lincolnshire.
Fittings etc: The bells are hung in a low sided cast iron frame from metal headstocks and ball bearings - John Taylor & Co 1938.
History of the Bells: There were originally three bells at this Church. In 1938 John Taylor & Co of Loughborough recast the original 1819 James
Harrison II treble (the present 3rd) and hung the bells in a new low sided cast iron frame. They also augmented the bells to
five by casting two new trebles to form the present peal of five bells.
